There is no HSE approved course for Sports first aid so TOLAN Training have designed this course to provide students with the basic requirements to enable them to deal with any sports related injury prior to the arrival of the emergency services. During the course you will learn the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies safely and with confidence. This course will also provide you with the first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious or is bleeding.

Due to the increase in awareness on the use of Defibrillators (AEDs) in sports environments this course also include basic AED and Defibrillation training.

  • Examination of an unconscious Casualty
  • Basic Life Support
  • AED and Defibrillation training
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Head, Neck and Spinal Injuries
  • Fractures
  • Sprains and Strains
  • First Aid Kits

Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student, there is no final exam. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate entitled "Emergency First Aid (Sports)" that is valid for three years.
